I love this recipe because it turns basic pantry ingredients into a delicious refreshing shake. Measure the orange juice concentrate, dry milk, ice wter, egg, vanilla and honey into a blender. Place the lid on securely and buzz for about 30 seconds or until mostly mixed. Add the ice cubes gradually, chopping the ones in the blender before adding more. Continue until all the ice is finely ground and the mixture is smooth. Serve in smallish cups with a straw or spoon. Leftovers make excellent popscicles frozen in popscicle molds or paper cups. Makes about 6 servings. For a kid friendly summer-time snack serve these shakes with pretzels, raw veggies and homemade ranch dressing. I always add the egg to this recipe because the acidic nature of the orangejuice and the honey kills off any salmonella that might be lurking in the raw egg. If you are dubious about raw eggs the it may be omitted or replaced with a pasteurized egg product like egg substitute. Make the choice that is best for your health and the health of your family.
