Lemon Slushie

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1/3 cup honey or 1/2 cup other sweetener of your choice
  • 4 cups ice cubes, or enough to almost fill the blender

  1. Get out your blender.  Add the water and lemon juice.  Pour in the honey or other sweetener.  If you use honey then lighly oil the measuring cup before measuring the honey.  This will make it all slip out more easily.

  2. Add the ice cubes.  Process the mixture at high speed for 2 full minutes.  The ice should be completely chopped and the mixture will be a lovely golden color.  Divide the mixture between four 12-ounce glasses.  Garnish with a lemon wedge and a tall straw.  Serve immediately.

Lemon-Mint Slushies:Add 1 teaspoon dry mint or 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh mint along with the sweetener. Process as directed.

Makes four 12-ounce servings.

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.  Use hospitality one to another without grudging.  As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.--1 Peter 4:8-10
